Verde Canyon railroad

Caryl had found some discount tickets to ride on the Verde Canyon Railroad, a restored train that runs up in northern Arizona along an old mining track. Yesterday turned out to be the perfect day to go up there and use these tickets, as the weather was sunny, mild, and VERY spring-like!
We stopped in the historic part of Cottonwood for lunch at the Village Tavern, and then headed over to the train depot. I had been on this before, albeit 10 years ago, but Caryl had never done this, so it was a treat for both of us. We spend 4 hours (2 up,2 back) enjoying some fantastic AZ scenery (plus a glimpse of an eagle in it's nest). After that, it was back into town for a glass of wine at a great little place, and then head back to Phoenix.
