Copperstate Mustang show

Well this past weekend, my local car club - Copperstate Mustang Club- hosted their bi-annual car show. This year it was a little more special event than usual in that is was also a sanctioned Mustang Club of America show. The event was held at the Wildhorse Pass Resort/Casino on the south end of town. A great place for the event; it numbered some 230+ cars registered for the event. Of course, I had to bring my Stang out to show off as well. It is not really a show car, but like many owners, we still like to show them off in the un-judged display class.

It was a tiring two days for me - I helped park cars on Friday and Saturday- but well worth the time and effort spent to see all the cool Mustangs in attendance. A couple of people even drove from as far as the Carolinas to enter their cars! And yes, this is my Stang, for those who may not have seen it before. The only problem with going to shows like this is you say - dang, I see lots of cool cars and add-ons I want for my car !!! This can lead to a depleting of the bank account without a fair amount of willpower and resistance. I was fairly good, buying only a couple more performance parts, and some new t-shirts to wear to club events.

I will end with a few more shots of some great-looking cars!

charity motorcycle ride

One of the great things about living in AZ is that when motorcycle season is winding down elsewhere, it is just revving up here! A friend of mine is part of a great organization (Share the Magic), a charity group that benefits several domestic abuse shelters. They have for the past several years done a charity bike ride to raise money for this cause, and I have been happy and proud to participate. This year was no exception, so last Saturday off we went, as they expanded the event to a "ride & drive" . (This is mainly because Joan's fiance, Al, has both a bike and a Corvette, I secretly believe). Nonetheless, it added to the size of the ride and made for a great spectacle down the road as there were some 35 motorcycles and about 20 Vettes in the mix, plus a couple of other tag-along convertibles. It was a great day for the ride, of course, with the temps topping out in the low 90s. Here in AZ, with low humidity, that makes for a great day! Not to mention a pretty darn good excuse to stop and grab an adult beverage at the stops along the way!

After this, we went with some friends to a fun local biker hangout - the Hideaway, in Cave Creek, to finish up the afternoon. As it would happen, there was a radio station having a promo there and the fun just continued!
